Clinics for 12-15 year olds – Pfizer vaccinations

Get more information about vaccinations for 12-15 year olds via our FAQs.

Eligibility:

No children under the age of 12 can yet receive a COVID-19 vaccination. Pfizer-BioNTech BNT162b2 (Comirnaty®) is the only vaccine currently authorised for those aged 12-15. This vaccination is licensed only for children aged 12 and above, so only children who are 12 on or before the date of vaccination will be vaccinated.

If you would prefer to book your appointment for a vaccination you can do that too. Please visit the National Booking Service website.

In Suffolk and north east Essex, you will be able to access the vaccine from any one of our five vaccination centres via the National Booking Service. These include:

  • Cedars Park Community Centre, Pintail Road, Stowmarket IP14 5FP
  • Chevington Close, Bury St Edmunds IP33 3FT
  • Clacton Hospital, Tower Road, Clacton CO15 1LH
  • Colchester Football Group, United Way, Colchester CO4 5UP
  • Gainsborough Sports Centre, 5 Brazier’s Wood Road, Ipswich IP3 0SP

Immunosuppressed patients

Some immunosuppressed patients are eligible for a THIRD vaccination eight weeks after their second dose. This is NOT the same as a booster. This third vaccination is necessary to strengthen the protection provided by your first two vaccinations. You will be offered Pfizer or Moderna, unless there is a specific medical reason for you to receive AstraZeneca, and that will be decided on a case-by-case basis, where appropriate.

Those eligible for a third vaccination, include:

  • people aged 16-49 with underlying health conditions that put them at higher risk of severe COVID-19, and

  • adult household contacts of the above.

If you are eligible for a third vaccination you should have already been contacted by your GP or hospital consultant and offered an appointment. However, if this has not happened, you should make contact with them directly, and they will either arrange an appointment for you or give you a letter of eligibility, which you will need in order to take to a vaccination clinic. The letter should include the choice of vaccine and the recommended timing for you to receive it.

If you need to make an appointment at a vaccination centre, please contact the Suffolk and North East Essex vaccination helpline to arrange an appointment: 0344 257 3961.

If you live in the Waveney area of north Suffolk, get the list of clinics that are offering third primary Covid-19 vaccinations in Waveney for 12+ immunosuppressed patients.

If you would prefer to book your appointment for a vaccination you can do that too. Please visit the National Booking Service website.

Please do not attend a walk-in for a booster before this 6 month date as you are not eligible and will be turned away.
